The County Government of Siaya has made efforts every financial year to improve own source revenue collection and to achieve the set targets. To further this course, the County Government of Siaya has now constituted a task force, in the Financial Year 2020/2021, that will strengthen revenue collection and help achieve the set targets for the financial year.
It is against this backdrop that the County Government of Siaya, Department of Finance & Economic Planning has today appointed Mr. Charles Omollo Kowi, as the Chairman of the Siaya County Taskforce on County Revenue Surveillance Taskforce.
The Revenue Surveillance Task Force will among other things supervise collection and receipting of County Revenue, advice on administration and enforcement of county laws related to revenue, assess and address pilferage for all revenue collected, advise the Finance and Economic Planning Executive on all revenue matters related to administration of revenue under county laws, assist in projection of revenue targets and identify and map new revenue sources
Apart from the Chairman, other members of the task force will include Moses Keya Okoth – Head of Secretariat, Peter Ombee Lolwe, Isaack Achola, Moses Owino Oginga, Livingstone Ragen, Charles Okose Onguko , Naphtal Akelo Gwela and Antony Ochilo.
While handing over the appointment letters to the appointees earlier today, the acting Siaya County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Planning Eng. Adrian Ouma implored the team to hit the ground running and quickly study Siaya County’s own source revenue documents with a view to delivering on their mandate with promptness and pragmatism. The task force begins work immediately.
