Implemented under the Aquaculture Business Development Programme (ABDP)<\/strong><\/a>, this initiative involves the construction and installation of 19 modern high-density fish cages in Lwanda K'Otieno, located in South Uyoma Ward. This development represents a strategic investment in the aquaculture sector, targeting small-scale farmers to enhance fish production and promote sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n

Valued at KES 18.4 million, the project is set to directly benefit 285 low-level fish farmers in the region. Each fish cage is designed to hold up to 30,000 fish, significantly increasing the aquaculture capacity of the area. The construction and installation of these cages are expected to be completed within a month, ensuring that farmers can begin operations promptly. This modern infrastructure is a significant step forward in improving aquaculture practices and enabling farmers to meet growing market demands.<\/p>\n
