\"\"The County Government of Siaya (CGS)<\/strong>, under the Department of Water, Irrigation, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources<\/strong>, has introduced a toll-free number<\/strong> as part of the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA)<\/strong><\/a> program. This initiative is designed to strengthen communication and enhance service delivery to residents of Siaya.<\/p>\n

The toll-free number, 0800-724-466<\/strong>, serves as a direct line for feedback<\/strong>, inquiries<\/strong>, and the registration of complaints<\/strong> from the public, not only for the FLLoCA program but also for all matters affecting the County. It is available at any time, without incurring any charges to residents, making it accessible to everyone in the County.<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of the County\u2019s ongoing efforts to ensure every resident has access to responsive and effective government services. She noted that the toll-free number is an important bridge<\/strong> between the government and its people, making governance more inclusive<\/strong> and participatory<\/strong>. She highlighted that this step is a testament to the County's commitment to transparency<\/strong>, accountability<\/strong>, and responsiveness<\/strong>, ensuring that the people of Siaya can voice their concerns and suggestions directly to the government.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Chief Officer<\/strong> for Water, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources<\/strong>, Mr. Michael Oliech Ombambo<\/strong>, confirmed that the toll-free number is part of the FLLoCA<\/strong> partnership, which is designed to improve service delivery to the citizens of Siaya. He encouraged residents to interact freely with the Nyalore Administration, particularly on FLLoCA<\/strong> programs and other development projects to highlight both progress and challenges. He reaffirmed that the toll-free number is available at any time and at no cost to the public, further ensuring that the government remains close to the people.<\/p>\n

The Director of Environment and Water<\/strong>, Mr. Gabriel Oduong\u2019,<\/strong> noted that this initiative marks a significant milestone in improving service delivery through public feedback on government programs, projects, and policies. Mr. Chrispine Omondi<\/strong>, the County Director of Public Communication<\/strong>, also shared that a virtual call center<\/strong> has been established to manage communication functions. The center is staffed by key personnel, including Ms. Caroline Mboga<\/strong>, the FLLoCA GRM Focal Person<\/strong>; Mr. Lameck Okeyo<\/strong>, the M&E Officer<\/strong>; Mr. Mielcazadek Odhiambo<\/strong>, the Climate Change Unit Coordinator<\/strong>; and Ms. Esther Nyang\u2019or<\/strong>, from the office of the CECM for Water, Irrigation, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources<\/strong>. These individuals, along with the Directorate of Communication, will work to ensure that all inquiries and feedback from the public are directed to the relevant departments for timely action.<\/p>\n

Under the leadership of Governor James Orengo<\/strong>, Siaya County continues to forge partnerships, with FLLoCA<\/strong> emerging as a key collaborator. This ongoing partnership has resulted in Siaya implementing 22 projects<\/strong> worth Ksh 168 million<\/strong>, which are distributed across 18 wards<\/strong> in sectors such as water<\/strong>, agriculture, energy,<\/strong> and environment<\/strong>. The projects, which have already been awarded to contractors, have seen significant progress, with many reaching 30% implementation<\/strong>. This initiative not only strengthens service delivery but also reinforces the County\u2019s dedication to transparency<\/strong> and community-driven governance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
