The County Government of Siaya, through the Directorate of Public Participation & Petitions (PP&P),<\/strong> invites all Siaya County residents to participate in a Citizen Participation Survey<\/strong>. This survey is a critical part of the County's effort to assess and improve public participation processes in line with the ongoing development of the Siaya County Public Participation Policy<\/strong> and the amendment of the Siaya County Public Participation & Petitions Act, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

1.0<\/strong> Purpose of the Survey:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This survey aims to gather valuable insights into the effectiveness of current public participation mechanisms in the county and to identify ways to strengthen citizen engagement in county decision-making. The information collected will guide the formulation of the Siaya County Public Participation Policy and assist in the revision of attendant legislation.<\/p>\n

2.0 Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The survey seeks to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Assess the extent to which the constitutional provisions for public participation are being met.<\/li>\n
  2. Evaluate the development and implementation of legal frameworks and legislation supporting public participation.<\/li>\n
  3. Review the public participation practices in key governance processes, including the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027, Annual Budget Estimates 2024-2025, and County Finance Bills 2024-2025.<\/li>\n
  4. Gather community expectations for enhancing public engagement in county governance.<\/li>\n
  5. Identify best practices and areas for improvement in public participation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    3.0 How to Participate:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Siaya County residents are encouraged to provide their feedback by completing the Siaya County Citizen Participation Survey questionnaire<\/strong> which can be accessed on the county website- www.siaya.go.ke<\/p>\n

    A copy of the filled-in survey questionnaire can be delivered at the county, sub-county, or ward offices or through the email \u2013 pp@siaya.go.ke<\/a> and copy to abayojared@yahoo.co.uk<\/a>.
