The inspection team was led by the Chief Officer for Roads and Public Works, Engineer Kevin Ajuul, alongside Engineer Shem Ojwando, the Director of Roads.<\/p>\n

The visit aimed to evaluate the project's progress, address emerging challenges, and engage stakeholders on the road's anticipated social and economic benefits.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the visit, Eng. Ajuul noted that while significant progress has been made, the project faces typical site-level challenges. One such issue is the presence of roadside car washes, which are interfering with stone pitching works\u2014a key component in stabilizing the road\u2019s shoulders.<\/p>\n

After the field inspection, the team convened a stakeholder meeting on-site to reflect on the key observations made during the visit. Discussions centered on the pros and cons of the ongoing works, the impact of informal activities such as car washes, and strategies to ensure minimal delays. The meeting also explored practical solutions to recurring construction challenges and reinforced the importance of community awareness and compliance with road safety and infrastructure protection measures.<\/p>\n

Action points agreed upon included:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Engaging local leadership to relocate or regulate roadside businesses interfering with construction.<\/p>\n

\u2022Strengthening supervision and coordination between the contractor and county engineers.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Enhancing communication with residents to support the road\u2019s preservation even before completion.<\/p>\n

The team walked through several sections of the road, engaging with engineers and local residents to identify opportunities for improvement. The inspection and subsequent meeting reinforced the county's commitment to participatory development and high-quality service delivery.<\/p>\n

As work continues, the County Government of Siaya remains steadfast in its vision to deliver infrastructure that enhances connectivity, supports trade, and uplifts the livelihoods of its residents.<\/p>\n
