\"\"Today, Governor James Orengo hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen at his office.<\/p>\n

The CS visited the county for the 41st Jukwaa la Usalama Forum, a grassroot initiative designed to give citizens a platform to engage directly with security agencies on crime, service delivery, and community policing.<\/p>\n

As a border county, Siaya faces challenges such as the smuggling of contraband goods, drug trafficking, and the proliferation of illicit alcohol, primarily through Lake Victoria.<\/p>\n

The county also grapples with unregulated mining, which has previously caused loss of lives, particularly in the Bondo, Rarieda, and Gem sub-counties.<\/p>\n

Other highlighted challenges include sexual and gender-based violence, defilement, stock theft, and hooliganism.<\/p>\n

Governor Orengo reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration with the National Government, local leadership, and security agencies to address these security and service delivery challenges in the county.<\/p>\n
