\"\"The Nyalore administration, under the stewardship of Governor James Orengo, has accelerated universal healthcare access for residents of Gem Sub-County and neighboring community. A key initiative is the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art, ultra-modern Yala Sub-County Accident, Emergency, and Maternity Theatre Complex. This modern healthcare facility is strategically located along the busy and rapidly developing Kisumu-Busia road.<\/p>\n

Once completed, it will effectively address shortages in maternity services and caesarean sections, while reducing the high incidence of mother-and-child diseases and complications often linked to inadequate healthcare infrastructure. Through its County Integrated Development Plan and partnerships with development organizations, the Orengo-led administration is implementing comprehensive healthcare facility improvements across all six sub-counties and municipalities in Siaya County.<\/p>\n

Groundbreaking ceremonies have already taken place for similar Sub-County Emergency, Accident, and Maternity Theatres in several areas, including Ukwala Sub-County Hospital in Ugenya, Sigomere in Ugunja (where a Level 3 hospital is under construction), and Bondo Sub County Hospital (which has been upgraded with additional facilities, treatment rooms, and medical supplies). At Siaya Municipality, the Siaya County Referral Hospital has benefited from significant state-of-the-art enhancements, including an expanded Accident, Emergency, and Casualty wing with Phase II upgrade of the facility in partnership with the National Government already underway at a KSh 500 million.<\/p>\n

\"\"The County Government is also collaborating with national and international partners to strengthen healthcare services, including:<\/p>\n

(1) AMREF Africa (primary healthcare and malaria prevention)<\/p>\n

(2) Centre for Health Solutions (HIV\/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention)<\/p>\n

(3) Lwala Community Alliance (which recently signed an MOU worth KSh 150 million for maternal health and community training for healthcare workers, officially witnessed by Governor James Orengo<\/p>\n

(4) World Vision (facility and maternal improvements)<\/p>\n

(5) African Population and Health Research Center (community-based family planning and reproductive health systems).<\/p>\n

Additionally, the European Union is partnering with Siaya County on nutrition, agricultural production, and other sectors.
