\"\"More than 2,000 men from Rarieda and Gem Sub Counties have graduated as Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development (ECD) Champions under the SCORE ECD training programme an initiative of the St. Franciscan Sisters.<\/p>\n

The men have expressed deep appreciation for the transformative programme, which is changing families and strengthening homes across Siaya County. Among the current beneficiaries is the Konyri Kendi group in Siala Kaduol, made up of 30 dedicated men who report significant improvements in how they relate with their spouses and children.<\/p>\n

Through the training, they have gained valuable knowledge on supporting expectant mothers, actively participating in childcare, creating simple play and learning materials for their children, and sharing household responsibilities before heading out for their daily work routines.<\/p>\n

The impact is evident not only in their homes but in the broader community. Siaya County continues to lead in championing the critical first 1,000 days of a child\u2019s life through the \u201cNyathi en Mwandu\u201d programme, under the patronage of First Lady Betty Orengo. The initiative underscores the importance of strong parental involvement in laying a solid foundation for children\u2019s growth and development.<\/p>\n

Beyond nurturing care, SCORE ECD also empowers the men economically by supporting them to register as welfare groups and participate in table banking activities. They are trained on the culture of saving, promoting financial responsibility and helping them become more dependable family men.<\/p>\n
