The youth of Siaya County continue to fly the county flag with pride and distinction. On the second day of the ongoing KYISA games, Siaya\u2019s vibrant athletes demonstrated remarkable prowess, securing victories in nearly every discipline.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s handball team delivered a masterclass in their fixtures against Makueni and Laikipia, thrashing them 29\u201323 and 25\u201314,respectively. Standout players Fridah Oduor and Dorothy Oduor were instrumental, consistently finding the net with powerful shots. Not to be outdone, the men\u2019s team dominated Makueni with a decisive 26\u201315 victory, fueled by the tactical brilliance of Michael Sigu and Derick Ooko.<\/p>\n
On the football field, Siaya\u2019s \"gigantic\" ladies stood tall, lifting the county\u2019s spirits by defeating Laikipia 2\u20131 and overwhelming Meru with a staggering 7\u20131 score line. The men\u2019s team, however faced a tougher challenge despite a spirited effort, they narrowly conceded their matches against Tana River (1\u20132) and Busia (0\u20131).<\/p>\n
Under the guidance of Coach Hermon Omondi ,the basketball teams showcased exceptional skill:
\nWomen\u2019s 5x5:Secured a strong 37\u201324 win against Nakuru.
\nWomen\u2019s 3x3:A hard-fought battle ended in a 9\u201315loss to Makueni.
\nMen\u2019s 5x5:Delivered a commanding performance against Laikipia, winning 83\u201357.
\nMen\u2019s 3x3:Remained undefeated, sweeping West Pokot (21\u20138) and Makueni (17\u201310).<\/p>\n
Despite grueling weather conditions, the athletes remained undeterred. They drew significant motivation from the County Director of Sports, Dr. Sam Mark Okoth who was a constant presence on the sidelines.
