The Electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system is Kenya\u2019s official digital platform for all public tenders. It is designed to enhance transparency, eliminate fraud, and streamline government purchasing in line with Article 227 of the Constitution of Kenya.<\/p>\n
The system ensures that all public tenders and contracts are awarded fairly, equitably, transparently, competitively, and cost-effectively. All businesses and suppliers must register on the eGP platform to conduct business with both the National and County Governments, including Siaya County, as required under the Public Finance Management Act.<\/p>\n

The system features automated verification and is seamlessly integrated with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Business Registration Service (BRS), and the Integrated Population Registration System (IPRS). This allows instant verification of business details and tax compliance.<\/p>\n
It is also integrated with the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) programme, which verifies certificates for youth, women, and persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n
As a supplier, tenderer, or consultant to the County Government of Siaya, one must create a profile on the eGP portal to participate in procurement processes. To register, businesses require a valid business registration number, KRA PIN, and other authorized details.<\/p>\n
The platform incorporates key modules including procurement and disposal plans, tenders, contracts, e-auctions, registered procurement entities, registered suppliers, and catalogues. These features enable prompt and efficient processing of procurement requirements.<\/p>\n
The system assigns different roles and access rights to department accounting officers, County Executive Committee Members (CECs), Chief Officers, accountants, and other staff for day-to-day operations. It eliminates delays, for instance, by allowing immediate replacement of user accounts when staff retire or leave the service.<\/p>\n
