The staff of Siaya Municipality, led by the Municipal Manager, Madam Linet Oyola, held a consultative meeting with the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Augustine Neto Adhola, and the Chief Officer, Hon. Joseph Oloo Mboha.<\/p>\n

\"\"The meeting provided an opportunity for municipal staff to engage with the department\u2019s leadership and discuss key issues affecting service delivery and municipal development. Staff members were also given the chance to highlight the challenges and grievances affecting their day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, the Chief Officer expressed his desire to see Siaya Municipality grow and develop into a model urban centre. He urged staff to uphold and promote the image of Siaya through professionalism, dedication, and teamwork. He emphasized the need for close collaboration among staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.<\/p>\n

The Chief Officer further encouraged benchmarking with other municipalities and cities to learn best practices that could enhance service delivery and urban management. He noted that people should be at the centre of all development efforts and called on staff to work together towards making Siaya Municipality a better place for residents and investors alike.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Adhola emphasized the importance of collaboration and teamwork in achieving the municipality\u2019s development goals. He encouraged staff to embrace transparency, accountability, and efficiency in their work, and urged them to be self-motivated and committed to delivering quality services without constant supervision.<\/p>\n

The Municipal Manager, Madam Linet Oyola, presented a brief status report on the municipality. She highlighted key challenges facing the municipality, including solid waste management, the delayed transfer of gazetted functions and resources, and payment-related issues. She also outlined the priority projects earmarked for implementation during the current financial year and discussed emerging issues requiring urgent intervention.<\/p>\n

Staff members were given the opportunity to openly share their concerns and grievances, which were received and discussed by the department\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n

Following the meeting, the team proceeded to inspect the newly constructed Siaya Municipal Offices. The inspection provided an opportunity to assess the progress and status of the facility, which is expected to enhance service delivery and provide a conducive working environment for municipal staff.
