The tour aimed to foster direct collaboration with local administrative teams, address operational bottlenecks, and align grassroots priorities with the county\u2019s broader urbanization agenda.<\/p>\n

During the delegation's first stop in Ugunja, Municipal Manager Mr. Fredrick Opondo presented a comprehensive operational brief detailing the region\u2019s development trajectory, key achievements, and strategic targets.<\/p>\n

While acknowledging progress made through strong strategic partnerships with external development organizations, Mr. Opondo highlighted persistent operational challenges, particularly tight budget allocations that restrict infrastructure expansion and public service delivery.<\/p>\n

Top priority issues included:
\n* Trader Safety & Infrastructure: An urgent appeal for a modern, off-highway market facility to safely relocate local traders currently operating too close to the high-traffic highway.<\/p>\n

* Service Milestones: Notable administrative progress was celebrated, including upgraded solid waste management systems, higher revenue collection, and enhanced community safety through new municipal streetlighting.<\/p>\n

Reassuring the team, CECM Mr. Neto Adhola affirmed that budget constraints would be addressed systematically, promising that local operational needs would receive the priority and funding required for sustainable growth.<\/p>\n

\nThe delegation then moved to Yala Town for a strategic roundtable hosted by Town Administrator Mr. Booker Otieno.<\/p>\n

Discussions centered on Yala\u2019s ongoing growth and official plans to elevate the town into a full-fledged municipality. Key projects slated to drive this transition include:
\n* Railway Infrastructure: The development of a new railway station to boost local transit and trade.<\/p>\n

* Affordable Housing: High-impact housing developments designed to improve living standards for residents.<\/p>\n

* Administrative Operations: Discussions also tackled immediate institutional hurdles, such as limited office space, procurement bottlenecks, and the urgent need to digitize physical land registry records to streamline public searches and verification.<\/p>\n
