Siaya Strengthens Malaria Response Through County\u2013PMI Evolve Partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n

From 514 to 243 cases per 1,000 population, Siaya is recording a notable decline in malaria cases following intensified prevention efforts, including the February Indoor Residual Spraying exercise marking a significant progress in the county\u2019s malaria prevention and control efforts.<\/p>\n

To further strengthen these efforts, U.S. President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) Evolve handed over 60 functional assets to the department to enhance malaria surveillance, coordination and response. These included a double-cabin pick-up(Nissan) laptops, Samsung tablets, smartphones, computers, monitors, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, desks and office chairs<\/p>\n

This progress highlights the partnership between the Siaya County Department of Health Services and PMI Evolve, which has supported key malaria interventions across the county.<\/p>\n

Director of Public Health, Dr. Kennedy Oruenjo, acknowledged the partnership's contribution to malaria interventions and assured PMI Evolve that the assets would be effectively utilized to enhance surveillance, supervision, outbreak response, reporting and data review.<\/p>\n

PMI Evolve is a U.S. Department of State-funded project implemented by Abt Global, working in partnership with the County Government of Siaya to strengthen malaria control and improve health outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
