Grant Thornton Partners with Siaya Municipality to Drive Urban Development Through KUSP II

The County Government of Siaya led by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) in charge of the Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, and Urban Development and the Siaya Municipality, convened a meeting with a delegation from Grant Thornton Advisory East Africa Limited.

The delegation, headed by Mr. Lennox Omondi, will conduct data collection with various stakeholders on key topics related to Siaya Municipality’s operations, staffing levels, and specific technical inputs from department heads and jobholders.

This initiative, under the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP II), aims to develop model organizational structures and standardized human resource policies and procedures to strengthen the capacity of urban institutions.

The delegation also held a session with Siaya County Public Service Board Chairperson, Mr. Collins Juma, Board Secretary/CEO, Mr. Wilfred Nyagudi, and members of the Siaya Municipality Board.

In attendance included Director of Housing and Urban Development and KUSP II Coordinator, Mr. George Obare, Ugunja Municipality Manager, Mr. Fredrick Ochieng Opondo, and Ms. Melody Buyanzi and Ms. Neissy Lochenita from Grant Thornton Advisory East Africa Limited.
