KICOSCA Inspection Team Wraps Up Final Day of Facility Assessment in Siaya County

The Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) inspection team concluded its second and final day of facility assessment in Siaya County today, as the county bids to host the 2025 KICOSCA Games scheduled for November.

Led by County Director of Sports Mr. John Angawa and accompanied by officers from the Department of Tourism, the team visited several facilities across the county to evaluate their suitability for various sporting events, accommodation, and logistics.

The day's inspections began at Ngiya Girls High School, which is being considered for athlete boarding. The team then assessed proposed field game venues at Agoro Oyombe Primary School, Kirindo Primary School, Awelo Primary School, Boro Primary School, and Gombe Komolo Primary School.

Indoor sports venues were inspected at St. Julius Academy and Barding High School, both offering facilities suitable for indoor games such as table tennis, chess, and darts.

The inspection also covered accommodation facilities, including Wasafi Ridge, Bishop Okoth Mbaga Girls Secondary School, Siaya County Club, and Siaya National Polytechnic—which also offers a spacious field that could host some outdoor events.

A key highlight of the day was the visit to Audrey Resort Golf Course, which has been earmarked as the potential venue for the golf tournament. The team expressed interest in its serene environment and infrastructure that could support one of the premier events of the KICOSCA Games.

With the two-day inspection now complete, the team is expected to compile and submit a detailed report to guide the final selection and upgrade of facilities, as Siaya County continues its preparations to successfully host this prestigious inter-county sporting and cultural event.
