Yesterday, the Department of Roads, Public Works, Energy and Transport hosted the inception meeting for the County Energy Plan.
The meeting marked the official launch of the planning process and brought together key stakeholders to align on the project’s objectives, scope, and expected outcomes.
It provided a platform to introduce the project team, outline the methodology, and clarify roles and responsibilities for all participating departments and partners.
During the session, participants reviewed the county’s current energy landscape, including existing infrastructure, consumption patterns, renewable energy potential, regulatory frameworks, and ongoing initiatives. The discussion also highlighted key challenges, such as limited energy access, reliability issues, rising demand, and climate-related pressures.
Stakeholders examined the proposed work plan, timelines, and milestones for developing the County Energy Plan. These include data collection, broader stakeholder consultations, technical assessments, and validation workshops.
