Siaya County is proud to join the global celebration of World Tourism Week 2025 with a vibrant and impactful Cultural and Investment Festival to be held in Bondo Sub-County. The week-long event, running from September 21st to 26th, aims to showcase Siaya’s rich cultural heritage, sports talent, and artistic creativity, while positioning the county as a rising star in tourism and investment across the Lake Region.
Organized by the Department of Tourism, the festival is a strategic effort by Governor James Orengo’s Administration to harness tourism as a catalyst for economic growth and community development.
The Siaya Cultural and Investment Festival promises an unforgettable experience with a diverse program that includes Traditional Luo music, dance, cuisine, and crafts.
Key Highlights of the Week include Cultural Pilgrimage to Got Ramogi Hills on 24th September.
Participants will visit the iconic Got Ramogi Hills, a site of immense cultural and historical significance to the Luo community. The visit will feature guided tours, storytelling, and traditional rituals that offer a deep dive into the heritage of the Luo people.
September 25: Community Outreach at Gobei Elderly Home
The festival takes a compassionate turn with a visit to the Gobei Elderly Home, where participants will spend time with elders, share meals, and deliver donations. This initiative highlights the county’s commitment to inclusive tourism that touches all generations.
September 26: Conservation Day at Nyandusi Primary School
The final day of the festival will take place at Nyandusi Primary School, featuring tree planting sessions, conservation talks and entertainment.
