In the 2026 County Fiscal Strategy Paper ( CFSP) public participation led by the Municipal Manager Mr. Philip Mbindyo at Bondo Town Hall, residents of Bondo Municipality were provided with an opportunity to participate in discussions on the 2026 County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP).
The meeting achieved balanced representation across all genders and recorded a strong turnout.
Among the key priorities raised by residents was the beautification of Bondo Municipality. The residents also urged the county government to develop more effective solutions for waste management and to equip cleaners with essential protective gear, including boots, face masks, and gloves.
The mitumba sector, represented by its chairlady, requested the purchase of land to establish an open-air market dedicated to second-hand clothing businesses.
Other major projects prioritized by participants included:
• Renovation of Bondo Municipality offices
• Supply of adequate medicine to Bondo Sub-County Hospital
• Establishment of a disaster management unit
• Construction of proper drainage systems
• Purchase of an omena drier and a fish cooler
Residents further requested that the County Government of Siaya allow the municipality to collect its own revenue and maintain a special-purpose account to accelerate local development.
Such fora empower the community to directly shape budgetary priorities, ensure that local needs such as improved infrastructure, health services, waste management, and economic opportunities are reflected in county plans, and promote transparent, accountable governance that drives sustainable progress and enhances the quality of life for all.
