GOVERNOR ORENGO MAKES FINAL APPEAL FOR SITICO ON KBC

Governor James Orengo made a final appeal today to attract delegates to the Siaya International Trade and Investment Conference (SITICO), scheduled to begin tomorrow, October 14th, and run through October 17th, 2025, at Siaya National Polytechnic.

Speaking on a KBC talk show, Governor Orengo expressed confidence that the inaugural investment conference will yield significant economic benefits for Siaya County, widely regarded as a land of untapped potential. He highlighted key investment opportunities in infrastructure, particularly in the Blue Economy, pinpointing strategic locations such as Usenge Beach, Luanda K’Otieno, Wich Lum, and Asembo Bay.

Orengo also emphasized the county’s potential for agricultural development, underscoring its role in enhancing the value chain to drive economic prosperity. He further outlined plans to leverage Siaya’s historical sites and legendary artifacts through investment opportunities, aiming to attract direct foreign investment to the region.

The Governor called for advancements in nuclear technology to ensure a stable power supply, supporting the region’s broader development agenda. Addressing the youth, he stated, “Siaya has immense opportunities. Let’s make them accessible to our youth—not in the future, but now. We must place our young people at the heart of these opportunities.”

The four-day conference is expected to draw industry leaders, prominent business figures, and local and international investors across various sectors. The event will be graced by President William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga, and other dignitaries
