The Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, and Urban Development joined a diverse assembly of stakeholders at Siaya National Polytechnic to commemorate International Women’s Day. Led by Deputy Director of Physical Planning Madam Angela Sewe, the department’s participation underscored its firm commitment to inclusive development and the advancement of women’s rights.

Under the theme "Give to Gain," the event focused on a central mission: Rights, Justice, and Action for All Women and Girls.

The celebration served as a collaborative platform for civil society organizations, development partners, and various sector representatives to reflect on the societal importance of gender empowerment.

Key Highlights of the Celebration:
* A Unified Front: The gathering highlighted that progress is most effective when institutions, partners, and communities collaborate to protect the dignity of women.
* Commitment to Inclusion: The Department’s presence demonstrated a strategic dedication to initiatives that uplift women within the realms of land and urban planning.
* A Call to Action: Beyond the festivities, the event functioned as a formal charge for all attendees to continue advocating for equal opportunities and the protection of rights for women and girls.

By participating in this forum, the Department reaffirmed that meaningful progress in society is only achievable when the empowerment of women is treated as a priority for all.
