About the Department
Background
The Department of Roads, Public Works, Energy & Transport is responsible for the county road network, public buildings and transport systems devolved under the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution.
Its work determines how easily farmers reach markets, how quickly ambulances reach patients and how attractive the county is to investors — making infrastructure the backbone of every other county programme.
Legal Mandate
The department derives its mandate from:
