About County Government of Siaya
Siaya County is located in western Kenya within the Nyanza region. The county is bordered by Busia to the north-west, Kakamega and Vihiga to the north and north-east, Kisumu to the south-east, and Lake Victoria to the south.
The County Government of Siaya is one of Kenya’s 47 county governments established under the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. It is responsible for devolved functions and services aimed at improving the social and economic wellbeing of the people of Siaya.
Siaya covers approximately 2,530 km² of land and has a rich agricultural, fisheries, cultural and tourism heritage. The county is organised into six county government sub-counties and thirty wards, which form important units for planning, public participation, resource allocation and service delivery.
