Powering Siaya’s Digital Health Transformation: CHS Donates 60 Tablets to Strengthen Service Delivery
The County Government of Siaya has received 60 tablets from the Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS), in a move aimed at strengthening the automation of health services and accelerating digital transformation across the county.
The tablets were handed over by a CHS team led by Dr Jacquin Kataka and received on behalf of the Department of Health Services by the Acting County Executive Committee Member for Health, Eng. Eric Odawa. He assured the partners that the devices would be put to their intended use in supporting the county’s digital health agenda.
The tablets will be distributed to health facilities across Siaya, prioritising those that did not receive devices through the Digital Health Agency (DHA), as well as facilities with urgent equipment needs. The targeted distribution is expected to bridge existing gaps in access to digital devices and strengthen ongoing health service automation efforts.
The donation is a significant contribution towards Siaya County’s ambition of achieving 100 per cent automation of health services. The integration of digital technology into healthcare operations is expected to enhance health information management, improve operational efficiency and support more effective service delivery, ultimately benefiting both healthcare workers and residents.
Eng. Odawa was accompanied by the Chief Officer for Health, Dr Samuel Omondi Owino; Chief Officer for ICT and Public Service Transformation, Maurine Awuor; Director of Medical Services, Dr Achieng Fwaya; and other members of the County Health Management Team.
