Siaya Governor James Orengo joined colleague Governors from the Lake Region Economic Bloc in Kericho County for the celebration of the International day for the Girl child Themed 'Invest in Girls Right; Our Leadership, our Wellbeing. The event which was Organized by the Lake Region Economic Bloc had H.E the First Lady mama Rachel Ruto as the Chief Guest. The stakeholders resolved the need to collaborate and mainstream issues identified as triple threat to the girl child such as Teenage pregnancies, HIV &AIDS and Gender based violence.Siaya County First Lady Mama Betty Orengo who also graced the occasion has been at the forefront in championing for the right of the Girls under the Nurturing Care Programme that advocates for Teen mums empowerment and Early Childhood Development. Siaya County with the help of various Partners will continue to ensure Girl child enjoys all the fundamental rights she is entitled to given the potential they have of changing the world.
