Governor Orengo Meets School Heads To Boost Education, ECD and Feeding Program

Siaya County Governor His Excellency James Orengo today held a consultative meeting with 247 school principals from the county to discuss ways to improve the quality of education in the region. The meeting, held at a local hotel, was aimed at finding ways to better equip schools in the county.

In his address to the principals, Orengo underscored the need to focus not only on the physical infrastructure of schools but also on the quality of education. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that schools have enough teachers, learning materials, lighting, and water.

"Improving the quality of education in Siaya County requires us to go beyond just constructing classrooms and other physical structures. We must also ensure that our schools are well-equipped with the necessary resources that will enable our students to learn effectively and achieve their full potential," said Governor Orengo.

The governor also urged the principals to partner with the national government to maintain existing access roads and open new ones to improve access to schools in the county.

The principals welcomed Governor Orengo's proposal, noting that it would go a long way in improving the quality of education in the county. They pledged to work closely with the county government to ensure that schools in the region are well-equipped and have access to the necessary resources.

The meeting comes at a time when the Siaya County government is making efforts to improve the quality of education in the region. In recent years, the county government has initiated various projects aimed at improving access to education and providing students with the necessary resources to enable them to learn effectively. These efforts have already borne fruit, with the county recording improved academic performance in recent years.
